• DAS GOLDENE LENKRAD - since 1976. Yearly German car award.
• Editors' Choice Awards - The Best Cars, Trucks, Crossovers, and More by Car and Driver Magazine.
• European Car of the Year - established in 1964 by a collective of automobile magazines from different countries in Europe. The voting jury consists of motoring journalists from publications throughout Europe. Representation from each country is based on the size of the country's car market and car manufacturing industry. The jury for 2012 consisted of 59 members from 23 countries. The stated objective is to find a "single, decisive winner" among all competing cars.
• Green Car of the Year - since 2006. Award from the Green Car Journal. The winner is selected by an 11-member panel comprising automotive and environmental experts.
• INTERNATIONAL CAR OF THE YEAR AWARDS | ICOTY - since 1997. Awards are one of several annual "car of the year" awards around the world for new automobile models judged to be the best of their generation. This one is presented by the United States magazine Road & Travel Magazine. Awards are given under ten different categories to new vehicles manufactured internationally and available on the US market.
• JAPAN CAR OF THE YEAR | JCOTY - since 1980. Given to newly released or redesigned vehicles released to the Japanese car buying market from November 1 of the previous year to October 31 of the current, and each award spans two calendar years.
• North American Car of the Year - automobile award announced at a news conference each January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The jury consists of no more than 50 automotive journalists.
• PACE | Premier Automotive Suppliers' Contribution to Excellence Awards - since 1995. Annual award from Automotive News in collaboration with Ernst & Young and Transportation Research Center Inc. (TRC Inc.) to celebrate innovation, technological advancement and business performance among automotive suppliers.
• Vanderbilt Cup - since 1904. The first major trophy in American auto racing.
• WORLD CAR OF THE YEAR AWARDS | WCOTY - aince 2004. French: Prix mondial de la Voiture de l'année. Automobile award selected by a jury of 48 international automotive journalists from 22 countries. Cars considered must be sold in at least five countries on at least two continents prior to 1 January of the year of the award.
